Sofia Vergara’s television and film career

Learn about one of the funniest women working in entertainment today.

Sofia Vergara is now 45, but she still has achieved a lot over the past decade. She has had the supporting role as Gloria Delgado-Pritchett on the hit series Modern Family, which earned her four Golden Globe nominations. Even though she never won a Golden Globe, she is still able to deliver great comedic performances along with her beauty and foreign accent.

Vergara had a very interesting childhood because she was originally from Barranquilla, Colombia. She learned how to speak both Spanish and English at a private school. After growing up, she had her first major film role as Nina in Big Trouble (2002). Since those early days in her career, she had both English and Spanish-speaking roles in a wide variety of films and television shows. She even worked on animated films like The Smurfs (2001).

Life was not always easy for Vergara, though, because she has accidentally created controversial moments during her career. During the 2017 Golden Globe Awards, she had a crude moment by confusing the words “annual” which a much more vulgar term. Nevertheless, Vergara is still adding humour to the entertainment business, and she will hopefully make people laugh in the near future.
