Was Glenn’s final Walking Dead promise one he could not keep?

The Walking Dead favourite Glenn Rhee could be set to make a return to the show

Glenn Rhee, the much beloved character from AMC’s The Walking Dead could be set to make a sensational return to the show, if reports resonating from comicbook.com are true. Steven Yeun’s character was infamously killed off by Negan at the start of Season 7, leaving “TWD” fans desperate for the show’s writers to somehow fit the popular character into a future episode (akin to the flashback reappearance of Michael Cudlitz’s equally respected character Abraham during the Season 7 finale).

However, the comic book series that gave birth to the hit TV show hasn’t included Glenn in any issue since his issue #100 death, although AMC haven’t followed the comic book stories exactly as they have happened, leaving loyal fans of the show hopeful that a return could yet be a possibility. There is a case to make that The Walking Dead bosses have had a potential Glenn return in their thoughts for a while, as Steven Yeun revealed when he knew his character would eventually be killed of, “I actually found out I was going to die about two years before it happened” explained Yeun. Other characters (such as Hershel, Governor and Beth) all returned for episodes after their characters’ demise, and if Glenn’s last haunting words (“I’ll find you”, to his pregnant girlfriend Maggie) from the series premiere, ‘The Day Will Come When You Won’t Be’ are anything to go by, then anticipate the pre-apocalypse pizza delivery guy, post-apocalypse hero to be back on primetime television screens when Season 8 of the series returns in October.
