When the lead actress started tweeting out about the fat-shaming ad campaign for the new take on the Snow White and the Seven Dwarves movies, the Korean Agency pulled the campaign.

The movie “Red Shoes and the 7 Dwarves” is a new take on the Snow White classic, scheduled to be released in 2018.

But the new ad campaign promoting the movie has stirred up some angry tweets from the lead actor, Chloe Grace Moretz, regarding fat-shaming.

The cringe-worthy ad shows a caption the reads “What is Snow White were no longer beautiful and the Dwarves were no longer short?” and pictures a cartoon Snow White who goes from thin to overweight.

Not surprisingly, the backlash was immediate.

Tess Holliday, a plus size model and body activist, posted to her twitter account : “How did this get approved by an entire marketing team? Why is it okay to tell young kids being fat = ugly?”

Tess called out Moretz, who voices Snow White in the new movie, and Moretz responded via twitter by saying that she is “just as appalled and angry as everyone else,” and went on to say that the marketing campaign “wasn’t approved by me or my team.”

Moretz tweeted that she found the story itself to be “empowering” for young women, and apologized for the “offense” caused by the ads that were not in her “creative control.”

The South Korean ad agency Locus has since pulled the ad campaign, and one of the film’s producers has apologized in a statement to CNN.
