Top 10 most valuable global brands in 2016. Two giants entered the ranking for the first time

Google, Apple and Microsoft were 2016’s most valuable brands in the world, a report from Millward Brown shows.

After increasing its value by 32%, reaching $229bn, Google succeeded in 2016 to outrun Apple and claim the top spot in this ranking. The company founded by Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak and Ronald Wayne dropped a position, after the brand’s value dropped by 8% and reached $228bn, shows the Millward Brown report, a report written in mid-2016.

Microsoft remained in third place, with a 5% increase and thus reaching $122bn, while the two giants Facebook and Amazon entered the Top 10 for the first time, occupying the 5th and 7th positions.

The total value of brands included in Top 100 also increased by 3%, reaching 3,4 trillion dollars.
