Not sure what career path to follow? These are the best paid jobs only one year after graduation

Business Studies students that graduate from the University of Oxford are the ones that are going to earn the highest salaries only one year after their graduation, Daily Mirror reports.

Business Studies graduates from the University of Oxford were earning £41,500 per year in 2014/15, after graduating from the class of 2012/2013, according to data from the Department of Education. Their salary already puts them in the top 20 percent of earners throughout the nation.

They are closely followed by Economics graduates from Open University and by Computer Science graduates from the Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine, which earn just under the £40,000 mark. Other fields included in the top 10 are Medicine and Dentistry from the Universities of Aberdeen, Glasgow, Edinburgh, and Dundee, who earn around £37,000.

Five years after finishing their studies, the same top graduates were again the highest earners, with average salaries of £71,700 a year. They were followed by Law students from the University of Oxford, Economics students from the University of Cambridge and Economics students from Birkbeck College, with salaries of £61,000 per year.

The data also showcased the differences between what male and female graduates earn. For instance, male law graduates from the London School of Economics earned £42,000 a year on average, while their female counterparts earned £24,000 a year.

According to the Department of Education, the graduates in law, economics, and computer science were the highest earners, while those in creative arts and design tended to have the lowest salaries immediately after graduating.
