These are the jobs becoming obsolete the fastest in the US

More and more jobs are fast disappearing in the United States, mostly due to automation and technological advancement.

A report by the Bureau of Labor Statistics found which workers are most at risk. The first position is topped by locomotive firer, a job that is set to need the fewest people in the coming decade. The job involves monitoring instruments on trains, watching for signals and dragging equipment. In 2014, there were 1,700 people working as locomotive firer in the United States.

By 2024, statistics estimate the decrease will go even further to just 500, a 70% decline.

Motor vehicle electronic-equipment installers and repaired are also expected to have fewer and fewer people in the workforce. In 2014, 11,500 people were employed in this position but in ten years the number is expected to fall sharply to 5,800.

Another job that is one of the most endangered professions in the US is telephone operator. The Bureau of Labour Statistics expects that the number of telephone operators to drop by 432.4% in 2024.
