Trump kicks out transgenders from armed forces
Trump takes their freedom away.
Trump messaged on Wednesday and said that he wanted to ban transgenders from serving in the armed forces in anyway. This policy will affect people already in uniform and people who would want to serve. Trump had disclosed this information on Twitter saying that transgenders will not be allowed or accepted in the service. Meaning that the policy Obama’s administration had passed last year will be changed.
It wasn’t hundred percent clear how it was going to change the life for transgenders that are already in the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marines. It is estimates that about 1,300 to 16,000 of the armed forces members are transgender. The Pentagon believes that it is an order from the commander-in-chief, but more like “new guidance”.
LGBT groups want to take Trump to court. Sen. John McCain, chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, urged the Pentagon not to pay attention to the tweet that Trump posted and leave the policy the way that it is.
