Actress Jenna Ortega emphatically refuted dating rumors linking her to Johnny Depp, despite their shared history of working with director Tim Burton.
In a recent BuzzFeed video, the 21-year-old addressed the most outlandish rumor she’s encountered: claims of a “serious relationship” with the 61-year-old actor. Notably, Ortega challenged the authenticity of a previous Instagram story where she allegedly denied the speculation.
“It’s so insane to me,” she said. “I never spoke on that. Articles really do just make up their own quotes, but I thought that was pretty hilarious.”
The rumor gained such traction that her “Death of a Unicorn” co-star Richard E. Grant inquired about it on set. “He came up to me and just said, ‘Oh, so you and Johnny?'” Ortega recounted. “I laughed because I don’t know that person.”

Both actors have collaborated with Burton, with Ortega starring in Netflix’s “Wednesday” and the upcoming “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” (releasing September 6), while Depp has appeared in iconic Burton films like “Edward Scissorhands” and “Alice in Wonderland.”
In a separate interview with The New York Times, Ortega revealed she left X (formerly Twitter) after receiving AI-generated, inappropriate images of herself as a child. She also discussed the challenges of maintaining privacy while rising to fame.

“I was a private person, and I prefer to be a private person,” she explained. “I’m so underdeveloped! My prefrontal cortex isn’t even fully there yet, technically.”
