X Factor UK legend Tony Adkins, Simon Cowell’s longtime bodyguard known as “Big Tony,” has passed away at 64 during a rugby tour on Easter Sunday.
Familiar to X Factor viewers, Adkins was responsible for managing contestants during auditions, often removing performers when their performances faltered. Beyond television, he also appeared as a giant in “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part Two” in 2011.
His family announced the news on social media, sharing their grief: “It is with great sadness we report that our cousin Big Tony passed away while on a rugby tour. He was a loveable rogue and will be deeply missed.”

Hammersmith and Fulham RFC honored Adkins with a heartfelt tribute, describing him as “a true gent and great Hammer.” The club highlighted his extensive touring history, noting he represented the team across Britain and Europe, from Brixham to Barcelona, Prague, and Amsterdam.
Reflecting on his time with Cowell, Adkins previously described him as laid-back and generous. “Simon was very private,” he told The Mirror. “He’d always show appreciation, typically with an envelopethe last one contained 700 (A$1451).”

Adkins leaves behind a legacy of dedicated service both in entertainment and rugby circles.
